Regent Seven Seas Cruises plans to spend $125 million upgrading its fleet to the standards of the Seven Seas Explorer, billed as the “world’s most luxurious cruise ship,” due out in July.
Renovations will begin with the 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator in April, followed by the 700-passenger ships, Seven Seas Voyager in late 2016 and Seven Seas Mariner in the spring of 2017.
The two-year project includes significant renovations of most public spaces along with a complete redesign of several categories of suites.
“These renovations will bring a new level of elegance to the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet,” said president and COO Jason Montague.
Seven Seas Navigator will emerge essentially a brand new ship following the renovations, with all suite categories, all lounges, the library, casino, boutiques, reception area, and signature restaurants Compass Rose and La Veranda receiving upgrades.

The library will have cream-colored couches, a fireplace, marble floors and dark wood cabinets with glass doors.
Compass Rose, the main dining room will be redone in dark blue, gray and antique bronze with touches of silver leaf. Crystal chandeliers will be installed, along with a larger wine cellar.
The reception area will get new marble inlay flooring in a compass-like design and polished stone walls with metal inlays under a ceiling fixture of backlit onyx.
The spacious Navigator Suite will be updated with a fresh new design, featuring a crisp and elegant look. The bedroom will feature a custom-made Elite Slumber bed and the bedroom and living room will feature green and yellow accent furniture with an ebony-black wooden vanity and white marble top counter.
The Penthouse, Concierge, and Deluxe Suites will get new décor and Elite Slumber beds. The luxurious new look will include new padded leather headboards, rich dark wood furnishings, and more plugs next to the bed for charging devices.
Following the dry dock, Seven Seas Navigator will spend the summer in the Mediterranean and the late fall in South Africa. In 2017, Seven Seas Navigator will offer Navigate the World, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ first world cruise in six years.
