Crystal Cruises continues to significantly expand its brand, beginning with the launch of the ultra-luxury yacht Crystal Esprit, and the river yacht, Crystal Mozart, the first of a series of river ships to comprise of Crystal River Cruises.
In addition to its luxury ships, the 26-year-old company launched Crystal Luxury Air in April, a private jet charter service with a Global Express Jet that accommodates just 12 guests. It plans to add a second Global Express Jet in 2017.
Crystal will debut the Crystal Endeavor, a polar class expedition mega-yacht in mid-2019, as part of its Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises. Two additional expedition vessels are scheduled to debut in 2020 and 2021.
The purpose-built polar class mega-yachts will navigate “first-year ice” and be outfitted with submarines, helicopters, and remote-operated vehicles. Crystal’s expedition ships will cruise in the Arctic, then follow the route of migrating whales along the coast of the Americas and Europe to Antarctica during winter.
In the first quarter of 2022, Crystal will introduce the first of three Crystal Exclusive Class ocean ships that will have high space ratios and residences on the top deck. The privately owned apartments, Crystal Residences, will range from 600 to 10,000+ square feet and have access to private amenities, dining, and other services.
Massive Enhancements for Serenity and Symphony
Crystal also plans massive enhancements for its two ocean-going vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony in 2017 and 2018. These refurbishments will be similar to the 52-million “extreme makeover” to Crystal Serenity in 2013 and the $20-million redesign to Crystal Symphony in 2014, according to Crystal.
The most significant outcome of these investments will feature full open seating dining for guests on both ships and more suites.
